Weather Protection
BookOutdoors includes Weather Protection at no cost to you or the guest on every eligible reservation.
If the weather forecast 3 days before the reservation starts indicates rain on more than 25% of the days in the trip where rainfall accumulates more than 3/4 inches per day, the guest will get a text message and email offering them the option to cancel the booking and receive a full refund.
If the guest accepts the offer, the reservation will be cancelled by BookOutdoors Support like normal and a refund will first be provided according to your refund policy. If 100% refund is not given by you, the insurance claim will refund the remaining amount to the guest.
Example 1: Rain is in the forecast and the guest gets a text message. They decide to cancel for a refund. Your cancellation policy allows for a full refund within 24 hours of check-in, so the guest would get a full refund from you.
Example 2: Rain is in the forecast and the guest gets a text message. They decide to cancel for a refund. Your cancellation policy allows for a 50% refund within 24 hours of check-in, so the guest would get a 50% refund from you and the other 50% from the insurance claim.
Example 3: Rain is in the forecast and the guest gets a text message. They decide to cancel for a refund. Your cancellation policy only offers a refund for reservations cancelled more than 14 days from check-in, so the guest would be refunded 100% by the insurance claim.
Travel Insurance and Cancel For Any Reason Coverage
Guests can optionally purchase Travel Insurance and Cancel For Any Reason coverage at checkout.
If the guest cancels the reservation for a covered reason, Trip Cancellation provides reimbursement of up to 100% of pre-paid and non-refundable trip costs if their trip is canceled for a covered reason.
The Cancel For Any Reason add-on provides partial reimbursement of up to 75% of pre-paid and non-refundable trip payments if a trip is canceled for a reason not otherwise covered by the travel insurance policy.
