This article will show you how to configure tax settings to calculate and collect the appropriate sales taxes and occupancy taxes for each booking.
- Login to your BookOutdoors Operator Portal account.
- Click on Property Listings in the left navigation
- Click on the property listing that you want to set up a Stripe Connected Account for. You will need to set up a separate Stripe Connected Account for each property you have listed.
- Click on the Payout & Taxes tab of the listing
- Click on Add a tax rate link to add a row for a sales or occupancy tax.
- Choose whether the tax is a Sales Tax or Occupancy Tax from the Tax type field.
- Give the tax a description or choose from one of the suggested options in the Tax name field.
- Choose whether the tax is a percentage of the sale (%) or a flat amount ($) in the Rate type field.
- Enter either the percentage rate or the flat dollar amount of the tax in the Tax rate field.
- If the tax is a flat amount, indicate whether it is a Nightly rate or a Flat amount per booking in the Rate frequency field.
- Repeat for as many taxes as you have.
- Click Save at the bottom of the page to save changes.
